Date Parties and Families (Both New and Old!)

February was another fun-filled month for ADPi! Some of the highlights include sisterhood retreat, big little reveal, and our first date party of the year, Alpha party, to celebrate our new sisters.

We spent the first week of February getting to know our newest members in preparation for our Sisterhood retreat on the second weekend of the month. Our retreat this year was held at the Nashville Zoo, and the theme was “Wild about Sisterhood”. We dressed up in our best jungle gear and did our best to blend in with the animals at the zoo! Although the weather wasn’t ideal, we didn’t let the rain dampen our spirits as we headed into a day filled with fun bonding activities and sisterhood.

Before we started any of our events, we had a little surprise planned for the new Alphas. At long last, it was time for them to find out who their bigs were! We did a sock reveal, during which the bigs hid behind a sheet with only their socks showing and the littles had to find the pair of matching socks before the sheet dropped and their bigs were revealed. There was happiness all around as the girls were welcomed into their new Diamond Families. Afterwards, we enjoyed some bonding activities and a fun scavenger hunt before returning from the jungle back to Vandy’s campus.

A week later, we had our first date party of the semester, called Alpha Party in honor of the new member class. They had the unique opportunity to vote on the theme of the party, and they decided on the Roaring 20s. Everybody showed up dressed in their best Gatsby-style attire, with lots of flappers and mobsters and more! The event was held at Fantasy Hall right outside of Nashville, and everybody had a great time dancing the night away. Special thanks to our social chair, Josie Mark, for organizing such a spectacular date party!

Finally, last weekend, we got the chance to welcome our parents to town for ADPi’s Parents Weekend. Sisters invited their parents to the ADPi house, some for the first time ever, and enjoyed a weekend together filled with fun activities such as baseball games and shopping events. Thanks to our special events chair, Rebecca Wildman, for planning an amazing weekend and thanks to all of the ADPi parents for attending!
